Where we’ve come from

Founded in 2010 by Justin Hartman and Gregor Rohrig, Social Code has quickly become a premier digital agency handling a vast array of clients. With the rapid expansion of the business Social Code aquired Entelligence Limited, a leading web development company which was founded in 1999 by Sean Riley and GT Ferreira, the co-founder of FirstRand Limited. Entelligence specialised in providing web development, SEO, hosting and SEM services and the aquisition was completed so as to further enhance Social Code’s service offering.

The company now employs 11 staff members, each of which specialise in various key areas of expertise and we’re constantly growing and evolving to continue to deliver the high standards that our clients have come to expect of us.

Justin Hartman CEO and co-founder Justin Hartman is the co-founder and CEO of Social Code and is a well respected entrepreneur in the industry. In 2007 he co-founded Afrigator which he later sold a stake to MIH Internet – a division of Naspers Limited. In December 2008 Justin was voted on as one of eleven members to the Silicon Cape Steering Committee – a not-for-profit, community owned & driven initiative that serves to attract and bring together local and foreign investors, the brightest technical talent, and the most promising entrepreneurs.

Gregor Rohrig COO and co-founder Gregor Rohrig is a media professional and entrepreneur and is the co-founder and COO of Social Code. Prior to moving to Cape Town to start up Social Code, Gregor was Head of Digital Innovation at Avusa Media. He was responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s first digital innovation unit which focused on developing cutting-edge mobile & web applications for the South African internet. During his time at Avusa he was part of a digital swat team that successfully shifted the corporate mindset to think and act digitaly.
